'Who Lives Here?' Flag Fen's Habitats (KS1)

Set in the backdrop of an internationally significant archaeology site, 'Who Lives Here? Flag Fen's Habitats' provides quality outdoor learning opportunities which are fun, creative, practical, and cross curricular. It aims to inspire pupils about the wonders of nature, sparks their curiosity about the natural environment and explores living things and their habitats and micro-habitats within Flag Fen.

Participating in this session, participants will:

• Identify that most living things live in habitats to which they are suited.
• Describe how different habitats provide for the basic needs of different kinds of animals and plants, and how they depend on each other.
• Identify and name a variety of plants and animals in their habitats, including micro-habitats.
• Explore and compare the differences between things that are living, dead & things that have never been alive.
• Learn about the environment and the need to conserve it
• Build confidence in outdoor settings and learn new skills
• Be inspired by the possibilities of nature and outdoor learning.
