Schools & Learning Booking Terms & Conditions

We welcome enquiries for pre-booked school visits from all schools, including Special Schools and Alternative Provision settings, for any of our learning programmes.

School visits must be pre-booked through the learning team and can take place Monday to Friday, subject to availability. If you have a group who would benefit from a quieter visit, you may wish to consider arranging your trip for a Tuesday or Wednesday when the site is closed to the general public.

Learning programmes

We can also provide shorter workshops and experiences for SEN groups of up to 15 pupils on request. Available workshops include, but are not limited to:

Handling Sessions: Prehistory, Roman, Viking & Fossil
Big Dig – Find Prehistoric and/or Roman artefacts in the mock excavation pits
Clay craft: Stone Age pots, Bronze Age pots, Iron Age beads and Roman pots

All schools receive a social story at the time of booking which can be used in your setting to help prepare for your visit.

We have Now, Next and Then boards available on site to help pupils’ transition between activities, as well as visual timetables which pupils’ can carry with them for the duration of their visit.

We understand that some pupils may need ‘fidget toys’ to aid their concentration or self-regulation. We have a small number of 'Tangles' available to borrow for the duration of your visit on site. If you have any pupils who would benefit from borrowing a 'Tangle' while they are at Flag Fen, please speak to your Flag Fen teacher.
